Chaired Professorship in Catalysis of
Nontraditional Feedstocks


The Gene and Linda Voiland School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering at Washington State University invites applications for one or more chaired, tenure eligible positions at the full professor level, to be located at the Pullman campus. Responsibilities for this position include: conducting innovative research in the area of catalysis of nontraditional feedstocks for energy and/or chemicals leading to internationally regarded publications; obtaining significant funding for this; developing and leading a premier research group focusing in that area; active participation in the educational activities in the School; and developing and maintaining collaborations and other interactions with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, the WSU Tri-Cities campus, industrial and other interested partners. Joint appointments with PNNL's Institute for Interfacial Catalysis are possible. WSU and PNNL share facilities at the Bioproducts, Sciences, and Engineering Laboratory (BSEL) on the Tri-Cities campus.

Candidates must possess an earned doctorate in an appropriate field, be eligible for appointment as a full professor in chemical engineering, and possess both excellent communication skills and the leadership skills to develop and guide an internationally recognized group in the area of catalysis of nontraditional feedstocks leading to fuels and/or chemicals. The successful candidate(s) will be expected to be an articulate advocate for the School and to promote and expand collaborations between WSU's Pullman campus, the WSU campus in the Tri-Cities, the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, industry, and other prospective partners. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability and willingness to integrate the activities of the catalysis group with educational programs of the Voiland School. Teaching experience is an advantage.
